Privacy Policy
What we do with the information you give us.
A short, plain description of the data we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: February 2025
01Who we are
Aurevant Capital is an international investment firm acting as a broker: we put companies and investors in touch with one another. We are based at Rue Du Congrès 35, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium, and can be reached at info@aurevantcapital.com.
For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide why and how it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
02Information we collect
We only ask for what a real conversation needs. The information we hold generally comes from you directly, and usually includes:
- your name, company or fund, role, email address and telephone number;
- the details you choose to send us about a project, a sector, a market or a potential investment;
- the content of our correspondence with you, by email, telephone or in meetings;
- basic technical information recorded automatically when the website is visited, such as browser type and country of origin.
The enquiry form on our contact page opens your own email program and sends the message from your address to ours. The website itself does not store what you type in it.
03Why we use it
We use your information to do the work you have asked us to do:
- reply to an enquiry and start a conversation;
- assess whether an opportunity is worth presenting, and to whom;
- make and follow up on introductions between the parties concerned;
- keep in touch with investors, founders and partners we already work with;
- keep records needed for accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
04Our legal basis
Where European data protection law applies, we rely on one or more of these grounds: your consent, given by contacting us; steps taken at your request before a possible engagement; our legitimate interest in running a brokerage business and maintaining professional relationships; and compliance with a legal obligation.
You may withdraw a consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of what we did before that moment.
05Who sees your information
We are a broker, so sharing is part of the service. We may pass relevant information to:
- the investors, companies or advisers you have asked us to introduce you to;
- our own professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants;
- suppliers who help us operate, such as our email and hosting providers;
- public authorities where we are required to disclose something.
We do not sell personal information, we do not rent lists, and we do not pass your details to third parties for their own marketing.
06Sending information abroad
Our work crosses borders. We deal with partners in Europe and the United Kingdom, and have also worked with contacts in China, South Korea and the Gulf, while seeking to open doors in the United States, Canada and Brazil.
Where personal information leaves the European Economic Area, we use the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses or a country adequacy decision, and we keep the transfer limited to what the introduction actually requires.
07How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as the relationship or the enquiry lasts, and afterwards only where there is a reason to. Correspondence is generally kept for several years so that we can pick a conversation back up and can show what was agreed. Information held for accounting or tax purposes is kept for the period Belgian law requires.
When a file has served its purpose, it is deleted or anonymised.
08Your rights
If European data protection law applies to you, you can ask us to:
- confirm what we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete information that is no longer needed;
- stop or limit processing, and object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive the information you gave us in a usable, portable form.
Requests are free of charge. Write to us at the email address above and we will answer within the time the law allows, asking only for what we need to be sure of who you are.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the competent supervisory authority. In Belgium, this is the Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.
09How we protect it
Access to contact records and correspondence is limited to the people who need it, systems are password protected and kept up to date, and we ask the same of the suppliers who work for us.
Email is convenient but not fully secure. If you are sending something especially sensitive, tell us first and we will agree a safer way to exchange it.
10Cookies and tracking
This website is a simple presentation of our firm. It does not place advertising, social-media or profiling cookies, and it does not build a profile of visitors.
11Other pages and people under eighteen
Our site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy stops at our own pages.
Our services are aimed at businesses and professional investors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this page as our work or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and we will tell people we are actively working with when something important changes.
